What an adviser does in SchoolAide Lite
You own the section: its learner list, its subjects, its attendance and conduct, and its report cards. Subject teachers encode scores in their own gradebooks; you see every subject's progress and release the term.
Create the class
- My classes → New class. Step 1 asks for your school, the school year, and the grading periods: three terms (MATATAG), four quarters (the legacy DO 8, s. 2015 calendar), or two semesters. Choose carefully — once any subject in the class has activities, that field locks, and Class settings will say so.
- Grade level and section. Name the section the way your school does — Rizal, Sampaguita. The grading mode is resolved for you and explained on the step: Grade 1 is descriptive from SY 2026–2027, Grade 2 from 2027–2028, Grade 3 from 2028–2029, and Kindergarten always. Untick any subject your section does not take.
- The roster. Paste straight from Excel or your E-Class Record, or upload a CSV or .xlsx. You see how every name was split before anything is saved. LRN is optional, and one that is not 12 digits is a warning, never a blocker. Skip is there if you would rather add learners later.
- Review, then Create. The wizard keeps every answer in your session, so a refresh, a closed tab or a dropped signal lands you back on the same step with nothing retyped.
Share the class code
Every class has a 7-character code. It never contains 0, O, 1 or I, so it survives being read aloud or copied off a whiteboard. You will find it on the class card under My classes, at the top of the class's Subjects page, and in Class settings. A teacher who joins with it gets your roster already typed — so there is never a second spelling of one child.
If a teacher signed up before you
A standalone gradebook that looks like your section appears under Needs a decision on the class overview. Linking merges only the learner list; their activities and scores stay untouched.
