Where to look
Open the class → Release cards → pick the term. The Before you release card lists everything that would make a card wrong. Red is a Blocker and stops the release. Amber is a Warning you can release past. Every item carries a link to the screen that clears it.
Blockers, and what clears each
- No learners on the roster. Nobody to release a card to. Add them under Learners.
- No subjects yet. A report card needs at least one learning area. Add them under Learning areas.
- "Grades are still recomputing." An edit landed a moment ago. Wait a moment and look again, or press Compute them now in the class record.
- "N learners are missing conduct ratings." The card prints an observed value for each core value, for every learner. Mark them on Conduct.
- "N learners have no term comment yet." The Teacher's Comments box prints on every card. Write them on Report cards.
A Kindergarten to Grade 3 class has no conduct grid and no comment box, so the last two never appear there.
Warnings
Everything about unfinished encoding warns instead of blocking — a term nobody has started, a subject with no activities, a component with none, missing scores, a learner never scored in any subject, learners with no descriptor or no competency ratings in a Kindergarten to Grade 3 class — because releasing a partly-encoded term stays your call. So does anyone over the 20% absence threshold: DepEd Order 15, s. 2026 fails the learning area unless the absences are justified. Deal with them, or tick I have read the warnings and want to release anyway.
Two other reasons the button stays off
The term is already released — take the release back first, and the next one becomes a new revision. Or your account is not verified yet: emailing cards to learners is the one action that waits for verification. Add a school email in Settings; you can still preview and print.
