Components and weights
DepEd Order No. 015, s. 2026 sets three components for Grades 4–10:
| Learning area | Written/Oral Works | Product/Performance Tasks | Examinations |
|---|---|---|---|
| English, Filipino, Mathematics, Science, Araling Panlipunan | 20% | 50% | 30% |
| EPP/TLE and MAPEH | 20% | 60% | 20% |
GMRC and Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao use the same 20/50/30 split, with Cognitive, Affective and Behavioral domains inside the first two components. Senior High School has its own groups, and Grades 2–3 carry the transition packs while they are still numerical. Press W on the class record to see the exact split for the subject you are on.
Weights are read-only. Nobody can edit them in Lite, and that is what lets you point at a number and cite the order.
Examinations is a composite
Inside Examinations sit Summative Test 1 at 30%, Summative Test 2 at 30% and the Term Examination at 40%. The engine combines those three first, then applies the Examinations weight to the result. This is the step most often done differently by hand.
The pipeline
- Per component: sum of raw scores ÷ sum of highest possible scores × 100 = percentage score.
- Percentage × the component's weight = weighted score.
- Add the weighted scores = the initial grade, the INITIAL column on the class record.
- Read the initial grade on the transmutation table = the term grade, a whole number, with its descriptor.
Empty, zero and excused
A blank cell is not recorded and is out of both sums. A 0 is a real score and counts against the total points. Excused (type X) is out of both sums, like a blank. Three states, three results — nothing is ever quietly read as zero.
Descriptors and the passing mark
90–100 Advancing · 80–89 Benchmarking · 75–79 Connecting · 65–74 Developing · 0–64 Emerging. 75 is the passing mark, and a learning area below it carries into the final grade for the year.
From SY 2027–2028
Transmutation stops. The initial grade, rounded, is the term grade, with 60 as the lowest reported. The engine switches by school year on its own.
Final grade and general average
Final grade per learning area = the average of its term grades, rounded once. General average = the average of the final grades. A learning area with a term still missing shows INC, never a guess.
